SUMMARY:Adult Chamber Music Weekend Workshop
DESCRIPTION:General schedule: Friday night\, 6:00-8:30pm; Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm; Sunday 12:00pm-approx 4:00pm. We will conclude with a private mini-concert (friends & family invited) of all the groups on Sunday afternoon\, approx 3:00-4:00pm \nThe workshop includes multiple round robin coaching sessions with each of the four members of the DaPonte String Quartet. Each ensemble will focus on one movement from a standard piece of the chamber music literature.  There are also several demonstrations of rehearsal techniques\, including topics such as phrasing and intonation. \nWe have space for four ensembles and are giving preference to preformed groups of four or more (sextets are really fun!). If you are interested\, but don’t have a group you regularly play with\, let us know and we can try to match you up with others.  In your application\, list the level of music you’re comfortable playing (Haydn\, Brahms\, Bartok\, Ligeti etc). \nThe workshop fee is $250\, a discounted rate made possible through our partnership with Associated Chamber Music Players (ACMP).  There is no food or lodging provided\, but there are lots of eateries within walking distance or a quick drive away. We will have some light refreshments on hand. There are also several hotels in the area if you prefer not to commute. \nThe deadline to apply is OCTOBER 20th\, 2025.  To apply\, send an email to dino@dapontequartet.org with your contact information\, instrument\, a short list of your chamber music experience (pieces you’ve played) and if applicable\, the other members of your group.  One person can submit a group application and serve as the main contact for that group. \nWhen you have confirmed your participation with Dino Liva\, please send a check or money order for the total amount to: DaPonte String Quartet Foundation\, PO Box 201\, Freeport\, ME 04032.
